Bas-relief carvings in Bayon Temple
大吳哥城巴戎寺內的壁雕
The Temple of Bayon (巴戎寺) might be the second most popular Angkor site, right after Angkor Wat. Just like Angkor Wat, there are also many amazing bas-reliefs carving (壁雕) in Bayon. While most ba-reliefs at Angkor Wat are depiction of scenes from ancient Hindu mythology, those at Bayon are about daily life of Angkorian civilians. There are also some carvings about Cambodians' war with Chams (currently south Vietnam). It is the first time I found out that Chinese had already involved with wars between Cambodians and Vietnamese, as far back as a thousand years ago!

They were going to war with the Chams! Even elephants were a part of the troop. Judging from the headpieces these soldiers wore, I was told they were Chinese soldiers (from Song Dynasty?) who came to help Cambodians.
Hey, this monkey tried to steal food from the woman!
These are the Cambodian soldiers. Comapred to Chinese, it seems that they did not have much budget to buy clothes for their soldiers
Dancing godess of Aspara. They are everywhere in Angkor temples. And they are always topless
"This turtle is biting me!! Take it away!! Hey, don't laugh at it!"
A family traveled on a wagon (or is that a tuk-tuk cab?)
Let's make some rice cake and let's brew some rice wine. But beware those monkeys hidden in the trees above you!
