The day after we had a full day tour of Valdes Peninsula, we were arranged to travel south to Punta Tombo, where the largest penguin colony in continental South America is located.

180 km south of Puerto Madryn, it took at least 3 hours to drive to Punta Tombo. Most people in my tour group opted to stay in town. Since I could not have enough of penguin watching, I was one of the only four persons traveling south that day.

I have seen penguin colonies in several different continents (in Australia, South Africa), but I have to say this is really the most interesting one I have been to. For better penguin watching than this, I think you have to travel to the Antarctica.

This adolescent penguin chick was shedding its fur. Its new fur still looked greyish at this point.

This one looked even grosser than the last one in the fur shedding process...

Many penguins here were just walking among human without any fear...

So a broadwalk was built to prevent people from stepping on those little animals.

Some penguins were hidden behing the bushes...

A huge flock of penguins were resting on the beach.

I felt my hair (after camping for so many days) started to look like penguins'...

Penguins swam toward the beach.

By this point, I guess we all had enough of penguin watching...

On the way back to Puerto Madlyn, had some Welsh afternoon tea at the town Gaiman
