Inca Trail- All Roads Lead to Machu Picchu

安第斯山的印加步道

Created June, 1999

Traveling from Cuzco to Machu Picchu, you can only take train because the road disappears half way through the Sacred Valley. You can also 'walk' by taking the "Inca Trail". The trail starts somewhere near Ollantaytambo and go all way to Intipunktu (Sun gate) above the Machu Picchu ruin. It usually takes three to four days to finish the trail. I only take half of the trail and finished it in one afternoon! You can imagine how exhuasted I was. But it is worthwhile. the wildlife, natural scenery, and hidden Incan ruins are beautiful!
The Winay Wayna ruin didden along the Inca Trail
  • Winay Wayna ruin on the Inca Trail. It is so hard to get there that there are almost no other tourists there when I arrived. It is pristine and quiet. There are some delicate water channels and fountains in this ruin.
Wen-Hung at the Winay Wayna ruin
  • I'm in the Winay Wayna ruin....
A waterfall along the Inca Trail
  • There are many mountain streams and waterfalls along the trail too. This is the largest (and most beautiful) one among them....

More to come......
