After Tikal, Copan may be the second most impressive Mayan site. Accidentally, this site ends up in another country, Honduras, so we have to cross the border to visit Copan. Fortunately, Honduras (also Guatemala) are one of the few friendly country that recognizes Taiwan and offer us visa-free previllage. It was relatively easy to cross the border. And I got to visit another new country!

A Copan pyramid. They are usually not as huge as Tikal pyramids
The Hieroglyphic Stairway. Today it is protected by a tent and tourists are no longer allowed to climb it.
Looking goofy on the top of the stairway (and wearing an even goofier sweatshirt).
A view of the ancient ballcourt (Juego del Pelota) from the top of the Hieroglyphic Stairway.
Another stelae. This one looks a little spooky.
One of the numerous stelae (column) at the site.
Another side of the Altar.
On the Altar Q in the West Plaza, you can see carving of the 16 great Copan kings.
