East Side Gallery - What Berlin Wall Still Remains
"Where can I find the remains of Berlin Wall?" Many tourists ask.
Go to East Side Gallery in Friedrichshain. It is the longset, best-preserved and most interesting strech of the Wall. The paintings on the Wall alone are worth the visit. Unfortunately, in the past 15 years, lack of management and protection has made many paintings severely damaged. Will these paintings still there when I visit Berlin next time?

What Brandenburg Gate looked like in 1980, at the height of Cold War.
"Mortal Kiss," showing two dictators, Honecker of East Germany and Brezhnev of Soviet Union kissing. It is quite sarcastic.
Statue of Liberty in Berlin
A new version of painting combining "Mortal Kiss" and "Test the Best". It just looks outrageously funny.
"Test the Best," showing an East German made Trabant breaking through the Wall.
"Hands." Many of the hands are not from the original painting but added by tourists.
Another new painting, it is even funnier than the one above.
